The entrepreneur should guarantee the health and safety of the people working with them in all aspects related to their work, and should therefore: |
Avoid risks which involves removing all risks which can be avoided |
Risk assessment, which is the process used to determine the scale of risks which can not be avoided. |
Planning and undertaking preventive action when the result of the assessment highlights risk situations, the entrepreneur should plan the associated preventive action in order to eliminate, control or reduce these risks. |
In order to carry out these three fundamental principles which have been established by Law and have to be performed by all entrepreneurs, appropriate organisation of the necessary resources within the company is required, so that preventive action can be taken in accordance with one of the following methods envisaged by the Law:
Personal acceptance to undertake preventive action by the entrepreneur |
Appointment of employees to undertake the preventive action |
Creation of one's own prevention services. |
Participation in a joint prevention service. |
Contracting an outside prevention service. |
The method chosen by companies will depend on the specific characteristics of these organisations and according to what they have chosen, such as the creation of its own prevention service, it will be necessary to carry out audits or external assessments of the prevention systems.
